I began my art career at the age of 17, embroidering pictures on work shirts while still in high school. My love of handwork led me to quilting and other expressions of textile arts.

Over the past 25 years, my award-winning works have been displayed nationwide. I have been featured on national television, in numerous publications, and have co-authored four books on quilting. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others
and seeing their excitement as the quilt world opens up to them. My patterns are an offshoot of this sharing. I offer easy and unique patterns for my students and friends to create.

Being the mother of four children, it was only natural that I would want to share my passion for fabric with them. The children's books on quilting that I co-authored with my sister evolved from my experiences working in my children's classrooms.

I am a scavenger, always on the prowl for new objects to incorporate into my art. I love to search garage sales for treasures and I take great pleasure in using them in ways not originally imagined.

I enjoy the design process and playing with fabrics and colors until they speak to me. My art takes on a whole new dimension when I add quilting and texture with the help of fibers and beads.

When I am not in my studio, I can be found teaching and creating at Quiltz in Ashland, Oregon . Feel free to e-mail me or visit me there.
